Acquired Taste or Just Weird?

Have you seen the specials this month at Chef Point Cafe?  Either X Factor is coming to town or Fort Worth is trying to have the most exotic delicacies. Seems Chef Franson is really going off the deep end this time. He has created the most unusual menu for the June specials.

Fort Worth where cowboys live and steak if the national food, it is hard to imagine items such as oxtail, liver and onions, goat meat, cow tongue, and cow feet. Chef is calling it the Acquired Taste menu. We didn’t want Fort Worth to look like it didn’t have any culture. So we looked up the definition of gourmet, since Chef Point Cafe is a gourmet restaurant.

[goor-MAY] 1. One of discriminating palate; a connoisseur of fine food and drink. See also epicure; gastronome; glutton; gourmand. 2. Gourmet food is that which is of the highest quality, perfectly prepared and artfully presented. 3. A gourmet restaurant is one that serves well-prepared, high-quality food.

Ok, then I guess Chef Franson is not out in left field. But what does it take to acquire the taste? Well cowboys, we don’t want to look unsophisticated. So head on over to Chef Point and try some oxtail. Then post a comment on what it tasted like.
